Privacy policy for
Sharad Sundari 2026

Last updated 4 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect from candidates, voters and visitors involved with Sharad Sundari 2026, why we collect it, and how it's handled. It's written to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

What we collect

If you register as a candidate, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your mobile number (verified by OTP)
  • Your email address
  • A 6-digit PIN you set, which we store encrypted and never see or keep in plain text

If you go on to complete your candidate profile, we collect further details you choose to provide:

  • Your age
  • A WhatsApp, calling or alternative mobile number, if different from the one you registered with
  • Your address
  • Your height and weight, used only as a sanity check, never as a selection filter
  • Your marital status and religion
  • Your Instagram and Facebook links, and whether you follow our pages
  • Photographs you upload for review
  • For rounds that ask for one, a link to a video you post on your own social account (we never take a raw video upload)

If you vote for a candidate, we collect:

  • Your name and age
  • Your mobile number (verified by OTP)
  • Optionally, a second contact number and your Instagram or Facebook link

This confirms you're a real, unique voter; one vote per candidate per round is enforced at the database level, not just in the interface.

If you contact us through the website, we collect your name, the email address or phone number you give us, and your message, so we can reply.

Why we collect it

Your information is used to:

  • Verify you're a real person and prevent duplicate registrations or votes
  • Administer the contest: candidate review, staging, scoring and results
  • Contact you about your registration, your profile, or the contest's progress
  • Generate your personalised voting link and, where applicable, your participation certificate
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse, for example by logging the IP address a vote or enquiry comes from

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for purposes beyond running Sharad Sundari 2026 without asking you first.

Photos, video and publicity

By registering, you also agree that Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers may use your name, photographs and video from Sharad Sundari 2026 to promote the contest, on this website, on social media, in the press and in its showrooms. This is separate from, and in addition to, how we use your personal information to run the contest as described elsewhere in this policy.

Who we share it with

Your information is accessible to the Sharad Sundari 2026 organising and production team at Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, and to service providers who help us run the contest (for example, our OTP and email delivery providers). We don't share your personal information with anyone else without your consent, except where required by law.

Your consent

By registering, you consent to both of the things described above: us collecting and using your personal information to run Sharad Sundari 2026, and Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers using your name, photographs and video from the contest to promote it. Both are required to take part, and accepting this policy during registration covers both. Where a form asks for your consent separately (for example, to be contacted about Sharad Sundari 2026), that consent is optional and separate from what's required to register or vote.

How long we keep it

We retain your information for as long as needed to run Sharad Sundari 2026 and to keep a record of the contest's results. If you'd like your information deleted sooner, contact us using the details below.

How we protect it

PINs are stored using one-way encryption and are never kept or shown in plain text. Access to candidate and voter information is limited to the organising and production team and the service providers listed above. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, though no online system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Cookies and analytics

Our website may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel) to understand how visitors use the site. These tools use cookies and don't identify you personally.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to access, correct, or request erasure of your personal information, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, or if you have a complaint about how your information has been handled, contact our Grievance Officer using the details below.
